Affordable Housing

The Affordable Housing portfolio is a subsidized program, where the level of rent is fixed and not geared to income. We have 6 separate buildings across the city that we offer at a fixed rental rate. This program is geared towards moderate-income families and individuals.

To be eligible for Affordable housing, your total household income can not exceed the Maximum Income Limit MIL.

  • Maximum income limits for household with dependants is $52,000 per year.
  • For households without children, the maximum income limit is $44,500 per year.

These limits will be adjusted periodically to respond to changes in the cost of acquiring and maintaining and average Saskatchewan home.

Applicants are assigned a housing unit based on their priority, size of unit required and preferred areas.  Approved applicants with the highest need will be offered the first available unit. Approval of your application does not ensure that you will be offered a housing unit.

Approved applications are kept on file for six months before they are cancelled.  The length of time between the date of your application and PAHA offering you a housing unit depends on:

  • the priority of your application
  • the priority and number of applicants waiting
  • the areas and type of unit preferred
  • current vacancy rates
